I love watching other people paint, and I like seeing the process of building layers. I enjoy painting in my free time mostly to see if I can replicate some of the techniques I’ve seen others do. I’m not usually thrilled with the results, but it’s fun!

1st place: Operation Heart – Team 2!

Their facilitators were: Dr. Eddie Dunn and Dr. Kat Neill (COP)
Their project titled “Cuts N’ Cuff” offered ideas to provide alternative means of hypertension screening to an at-risk population as well as provide them with information on the importance of treatment of hypertension.
2nd place was a tie!
The two winning teams are Mental Health Awareness – Team 3 and Oral Health – Team 1.

Their project title was “Increasing Mental Health Awareness in Training Medical Professionals” and their goal was to increase awareness of mental illness among graduate students in the health sciences.

Their faculty facilitators was Ms. Jennifer Stane (CHP/DH)
Their project titled “Reducing Early Childhood Caries by Education of UAMS Student Healthcare Providers Through an IPE Fluoride Varnish Certification Program” aimed to increase UAMS IPE requirement opportunities for students and the number of UAMS graduates with fluoride varnish application certification.
Winners can stop by the IPE office (RAHN 1210) to collect their certificates and prizes. 1st place receives a stainless steel UAMS tumbler, the 2nd place tie winners can choose between a UAMS t-shirt or a stainless steel UAMS water bottle!
Congratulations to ALL the teams who participated. Every year the competition gets fiercer because the teams are producing top-notch projects. We also want to thank all the facilitators and judges who helped make this Triple Aim Project activity such a success. THANK YOU!

UAMS Recognized for Interprofessional Education Program by Yavonda Chase
Oct. 31, 2018 | Oct. 31, 2018 | On the strength of its interprofessional education curriculum, UAMS recently was identified as a Program of Merit by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP).
The award came as part of the association’s Award for Institutional Excellence and Innovation in Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Health Care contest. Since fall 2015, all UAMS students must complete 25 hours of interprofessional education activities to graduate.
