About Us

The Office of Interprofessional Education is housed in the UAMS Division of Academic Affairs. The office contributes to the curriculum development, scholarship productivity, research infrastructure and collaborative practice environment across UAMS’ five colleges and the graduate school.

The interprofessional education (IPE) strategic goals align with the Triple Aim philosophy of health care set forth by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. The Quadruple Aim is:

  • Improve the care of the individual
  • Improve the health of the population
  • Decrease the cost of care
  • Improve provider satisfaction/wellness

Interprofessional education and collaborative practice are essential to meeting these goals.

UAMS has a number of resources to support interprofessional education. These include:

  • Center for Health Literacy
  • Center for Patients and Families
  • Office of Global Health
  • Center for Diversity Affairs
  • 12th Street Health and Wellness Center
