Triple AIM

The Triple Aim was developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in October of 2007. The Triple Aim framework was designed to help health care organizations:

  • Improve the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction);
  • Improve the health of populations; and
  • Reduce the per capita cost of health care

To contribute to UAMS’ success in reaching the Triple Aim; the Office of Interprofessional Education has developed a strategic goal framework that supports a horizontal organizational structure that bridges across UAMS’ six- health professions (colleges), clinical delivery system and our research enterprise. The interprofessional education strategic goals support the vision of the Triple Aim; to improve patient health care, to improve population health in Arkansas and to reduce cost of health care in Arkansas.
