Student Educator Activities

Triple Aim activities are designed to support students’ development of Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Competency Domains and Triple Aim goals.

This requirement can be completed by being a facilitator at one of the following events:

  1. Serve as a co-facilitator for an IPE Triple Aim Exposure or Immersion Phase Activity – Exposure Workshop, Exposure Bridge Activity (Movie night, etc), Triple Aim Project Proposal, Simulation, etc.
  2. Mentor students in simulation activities, health fairs, point of care training and other events that translate into improved community outcomes with a patient-centered or healthcare focus.
  3. Serve on a Student Advisory Board for 12th Street HWC, North Street, or other free or reduced-cost interprofessional clinic.
  4. Provide a seminar on health professions as a career opportunity to students in K-12 education or undergraduate studies.
  5. Provide a seminar on a practice-related topic (inservice, case conference topic presentation, education booth/fair, etc).
  6. Presentation of original research (Applied Practice Experience, Integrative Learning Experience, poster/platform presentation, etc).
  7. Other activities may be submitted to the Director of Interprofessional Curricular Affairs for approval.  Email Dr. Kat Neill at kkneill@uams.edu for consideration of other activities.

Complete Student Educator Activity

To complete the Student Educator Activity:

  1. Students must be enrolled in the IPE Competence Student Educator Activity course in Blackboard. For questions about enrollment, please contact IPE@uams.edu.
  2. Students must submit a student educator verification form and reflective essay in Blackboard within 7 days following participation in the activity.

The Student Educator Verification form, IPE student educator written reflection, and reflection grading rubric are available in the Assignments Tab within the IPE Student Educator Activity course under My Communities in Blackboard.

Student Educator – CREATE Movie Learning Modules

This is an opportunity to complete an IPE COMPETENCE phase requirement – the STUDENT EDUCATOR activity. 

YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED THE EXPOSURE BRIDGE REQUIREMENT TO SERVE AS A STUDENT EDUCATOR FOR THIS PROJECT.

Students serving as STUDENT EDUCATOR will assist in creating learning modules for student movie night – this includes:

  1. Learning Objectives 
  2. Pre & Post Quiz questions
  3. “Look for it/Listen for it” discussion clues
  4. 10 minute (max) PowerPoint presentation

2 person teams per learning module.

Cord Blood Information Drive

Miss Arkansas, Claudia Raffo, supports cord blood donation and you can too! As a Student Educator you can assist in educating the public about cord blood banking.

MPH Integrated Learning Experience (ILE)

MPH students can complete their Student Educator Activity through participation in the the COPH Integrated Learning Experience (ILE). (COPH 5992)
